SOME HISTORY and a FEW FACTS. |
| The NOVATEC brand was established in 1989. It is owned by Joy Industrial Co., Ltd which was established in 1971. The Joy Industrial Co. has been a preffered supplier to companies like Giant and Merida since the mid 1980's. They manufacture ROAD, MTB, DH, BMX, TRACK/SS and COASTER hubs. Joytech is a hub maker that produces many of the branded hubs used on high-end boutique wheels all over the world. Several bike brands spec NOVATEC wheels as original equipment on their new bikes. Novatec opened it's Hong Kong office in 1993 and established it's Japan office later that same year. In 2001 NOVATEC open an office in Holland to serve the European market. |

AWARDS. |
| NOVATEC has a long list of awards for manufacturing and design excellence from the Taiwan Bicycle Export Association. Most recently the X-Perti W138 was awarded the silver medal in 2008 and the CRAFT W999 full carbon wheelset was given the Award of Excellence in 2009. |
| In a recent product test review Bike Radar gave the X-Treme J333 4.5 out of 5 stars and Cycling Plus gave these same wheels the Editors Choice Award (Cycling Plus (UK) No.217 Dec 2008). |
| Cycling Plus also tested the JETFLY and gave these wheels a 9 out of 10 rating (Cycling Plus (UK) No.219 Feb 2008). |

PRODUCTION. |
| NOVATEC wheels are HANDBUILT and tuned. For further information about this process check the handbuilt button in the sidebar. NOVATEC uses the TPS (Toyoto Production System) to ensure consistant quality. |
| NOVATEC has choosen to use SAPIM spokes and nipples like the very popular CX-Ray (see the link in the sidebar for more information on these spokes) The rims used on NOVATEC wheels are manufactured by the top rim makers in Taiwan. |
